The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is seeking public comment on the next editions of NFPA 101: Life Safety Code and NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code.

The 2021 Editions are available for review at the link below. NFPA will accept comments through June 27, 2018.

NFPA 101: Life Safety Code is the most widely used source for strategies to protect people based on building construction, protection, and occupancy features that minimize the effects of fire and related hazards. NFPA 99: Health Facilities Code establishes criteria for levels of health care services or systems based on risk to the patients, staff, or visitors in health care facilities to minimize the hazards of fire, explosion, and electricity. Currently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as the Joint Commission use the 2012 edition.
