Joint Commission Standards Revisions Related to Project REFRESH
The Joint Commission (TJC) has released a new group of standard revisions as a part of Phase IV of their EP Review Project, a multi-phased component of TJC’s project improvement initiative called Project REFERSH.
Phases I, II, and III of the EP Review Project resulted in the deletion of hundreds of EPs across all TJC accreditation programs. Phase IV evaluated EPs across all accreditation programs with the intention of streamlining and consolidating them. Areas reviewed in Phase IV included:
- Document and Process Control for the laboratory program
- Information Management
- Performance Improvement
- Record of Care, Treatment, and Services
The consolidated requirements are effective July 1, 2018.
