Employers Must Post 2018 Injury and Illness Summary Beginning February 1

PUBLISHED: Jan 21, 2019
Relevant to: All Healthcare Organizations

Employers are reminded that they must post a copy of OSHA’s Form 300A, which summarizes job-related injuries and illnesses logged during 2018. Each year, from February 1st to April 30th, the summary must be displayed in a common area where notices to employees are usually posted.

There are two classes of employers that are partially exempt from routinely keeping injury and illness records. First, employers with ten or fewer employees at all times during the previous calendar year are exempt from routinely keeping OSHA injury and illness records. Second, establishments in certain low-hazard industries are also partially exempt from routinely keeping OSHA injury and illness records. Follow the link below for lists of both exempt and newly covered industries.

Included with today’s notice is an example policy related to workplace injury, illness or fatality reporting.
