Joint Commission Proposes Requirements for the New Thrombectomy-capable Stroke Center Certification Program

The Joint Commission (TJC) is currently developing a new, optional certification for hospitals, the Thrombectomy-capable Stroke Center Advanced Certification. This certification is intended for hospitals that are providing “high-quality endovascular thrombectomy for patients with ischemic stroke.”

Currently TJC is seeking comments on their proposed requirements for this certification. Comments will be accepted through May 29, 2017.
