| The Joint Commission (JC) has rescinded revisions to standard EC.5.40 EP 14, which changed testing frequency requirements for fire and smoke dampers and had become effective July 1, 2007. These revisions were reviewed in a StayAlert notice published on July 23, 2007. According to JC, the revisions were erroneously printed and JC is still evaluating changes to EC.5.40 EP 14.
