| The Joint Commission (JC) has issued an update that is effective immediately for standard MM.4.10 for the Emergency Department (ED) for hospitals and critical access hospitals.Background:JC issued an interim action to standard MM.4.10 EP 1, effective January 1, 2007, that required a pharmacist to conduct a retrospective review of all medication orders in the ED when a prospective review of the order was not conducted.
