| CMS has issued revisions to the Hospital Interpretive Guidelines regarding informed decision-making and informed consent in Appendix A of the State Operations Manual. These changes are effective immediately.
The revised Interpretive Guidelines discuss the applicable requirements for each CoP and also includes examples of practices which hospitals are encouraged to adopt but may not be required by the CoPs.
