| United States Pharmacopeia (USP) has released a report on medication errors in the perioperative setting, which includes outpatient surgery, the preoperative holding area, the operating room, and the post-anesthesia care unit.
According to USP, there is an increased risk of medication errors in the perioperative setting because of a lack of comprehensive oversight of medications in this area.
