| JCAHO has issued a field review on proposed hospital disruptive behavior standards. The proposed standard would address the problem of disruptive behavior among staff within healthcare organizations.
JCAHO defines disruptive behavior as “conduct displayed by a health care professional that negatively impacts the quality or safety of care or has the potential to do so.” Disruptive behavior can be verbal or nonverbal and can include using rude language, facial expressions, threatening manners...
