| JCAHO has made revisions to the Nursing Chapter for the Critical Access Hospital and Hospital Accreditation programs. According to JCAHO, changes in the health care system results in an evolving role of nursing and expanding responsibilities for nurse executives. The standards in the nursing chapter will continue to evolve as the roles of the nurse executive role, nurse manager and staff nurse change.
