| CMS has released its final rule on Medicare Discharge Notice Policy. The final rule is less restrictive than the proposed rule, which was reviewed in the April 14, 2006 StayAlert Notice.
The final rule, effective July 1, 2007, outlines how hospitals must notify Medicare beneficiaries who are hospital inpatients about their hospital discharge rights.
