| JCAHO has updated Standard IM.6.50 to reflect the requirements of NPSG 2A. Standard IM.6.10 states that designated qualified personnel accept and transcribe verbal orders from authorized individuals.
This standard requires hospitals to have a process in place for receiving, transcribing and verifying verbal or telephone orders to protect the quality of care, treatment and services provided to patients.
