| JCAHO has issued revisions to standard HR.3.110, effective January 1, 2007. LD.3.110 states that Leaders implement policies and procedures developed with the medical staff’s participation for procuring and donating organs and other tissues.
The rationale for this standard is that leadership’s commitment to developing and sustaining a culture that supports organ donation can have a significant contribution to the overall success of the organization’s organ procurement efforts.
