| The StayAlert Administrator has been asked to explain which JCAHO laboratory standards regulate devices such as continuous glucose monitoring systems, pulse oximeters, and transcutaneous bilirubinometers.
To clarify, these types of analyzers are approved by the FDA as monitoring devices and are not considered laboratory tests. The JCAHO standards that regulate these types of devices are covered by EC.6.10 and EC.6.20 (CAMLAB).
