| CMS has issued guidance regarding a Deficit Reduction Act provision that states that individuals must provide satisfactory documentation of citizenship when applying for Medicaid. The provision is effective July 1, 2007 and is applicable when an individual is initially applying for Medicaid or requesting re-determination.
