| JCAHO had revised EP #1 of standard MM.5.10 from "not applicable" to policies and procedures will be developed and maintained that address which healthcare professional may administer medications, with or without supervision, and in compliance with state and federal regulations. Policies may delineate the qualifications of healthcare professionals to administer medications by: medication, class of medication or route of administration. For example:
