| The JCAHO, in the recent 2005 update to the Nursing Chapter of the Standards Manuals, has added the requirement for nursing services to establish nurse staffing plans. While staffing plans have long been developed and implemented by healthcare organizations, the JCAHO is now requiring these to be established under Nursing Standard NR.3.10, and related element of performance number one (1).
