| In the latest issue of the JCAHO's periodical "The Source" an article was published entitled "Strategies for preventing surgical fires". The JCAHO underscores the Sentinel Event Alert issued in June of 2003 addressing surgical fire prevention in addition to the Environment of Care Standards, which address this issue in 2005.
