| The JCAHO has published a document outlining rationale for and interpretative guidelines to, the National Patient Safety Goals. The JCAHO explains why the goal is felt to be a key in the safe and effective delivery of patient care and services in the rationale portion of the document (second column), and outlines which healthcare entities each specific goals applies to (acute hospitals, clinical laboratories, disease specific care, etc.) in the third column.
