| In the January 2005 issue of JCAHOnline, the JCAHO's electronic newsletter, the JCAHO notes that the requirement for clinical laboratory reporting of test results specific to the National Patient Safety Goal for improving the effectiveness of communication among caregivers will be revised for 2006. Currently the 2005 requirement "d" for this goal, pertaining to clinical laboratory reporting of critical test values calls for the test results to be communicated directly to physicians.
