| Effective July 1, 2007 revised JCAHO Standard EC.7.40 will go into effect. The revised standard states that accredited organizations (Hospital, Critical Access Hospital, Long Term Care, Ambulatory Care, Behavioral Health Care, Laboratory, Office-Based Surgery and Home Care) must test their emergency generators every 36 months for four continuous hours.
Standard EC.7.40 states that organizations maintain, test, and inspect their emergency power systems.
