| JCAHO announced the addition of new standards to the Provision of Care chapter in the CAMH Update, May 2005. These standards were effective as of July 1, 2005.
These new standards apply to Laboratory (QC.5.300, QC.5.310, QC.5.320), Hospital, Critical Access Hospital, Office Based Surgery Practices and Ambulatory Care Programs.
A summary of these standards are as follows:

The hospital uses standardized procedures to acquire, receive, store and issue tissues and cells.
