| The Joint Commission announced in the Joint Commission Perspectives, August 2005 issue, that beginning January 1, 2006 the Periodic Performance Review (PPR) will be required for the laboratory accreditation program.
Laboratories will submit its annual PPR at the same time the primary program submits its PPR. If the laboratory is free standing, the date the PPR will be submitted is based on the date of the laboratory's last full survey.
