| The CDC has provided an updated fact sheet on Botulism for Health Care Providers. Botulism is a nueroparalytic disease caused by the toxin Clostridium botulinum, an encapsulated anaerobe, gram positive, spore forming, bacillus bacterium. There are three forms of naturally occurring botulism:
Foodborne botulism: Caused by ingestion of pre-formed toxin
