| The FDA has approved the Gore Tag Endoprosthesis System, manufactured by W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc, and is an endovascular grafting device for the treatment of thoracic aneurysms. Thoracic aneurysms involve the descending thoracic aorta and are an enlargement of a weakened area of the thoracic portion of the aorta. Aneurysms in this area are prone to rupture once they reach a certain size. Approximately fifty percent of patients who experience a rupture of a thoracic aortic aneurysm die...
