| The FDA and Pfizer Inc., have issued a notification to healthcare professionals that there is evidence that long term use of Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection may result in significant loss of bone mineral density. Depo-Provera (medroxyprogesterone acetate) is an injectable progestin-only reversible method of birth control, with the effect of the contraceptive lasting approximately twelve (12) weeks.
