| The FDA and Abbott Pharmaceuticals have issued a warning to healthcare professionals about the use of Humira (adalimumab), a TNF - blocking agent and Kineret (anakinra) a selective blocker of interleukin-1, both of which are used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The FDA notes that the warnings on these drugs have been revised to include the following when the drugs are used in combination (a TNF-blocking agent used with Kineret):
