| The FDA has approved the drug Palladone (hydromorphone hydrochloride) capsules for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. Palladone is an opioid based medication, delivered in an extended-release formulation. Palladone (which is stronger than Oxycontin) is intended for use in patients who are currently receiving opioid therapy and require continuous around-the-clock opioid pain relief for an extended period of time due to severed, persistent pain.
