| The Joint Commission (TJC) has issued a clarification for standard IM.02.02.01 which addresses abbreviations, acronyms, symbols, and dose designations. According to TJC, there has been confusion in the field regarding IM.02.02.01, Element of Performance 2, which some organizations have interpreted as meaning that they had to create lists of approved abbreviations, acronyms, symbols, and dose designations.
