| The Joint Commission (TJC) has announced that as of July 1, 2010 two Elements of Performance, addressing anti-discrimination, will be added to the hospital medical staff standards. According to TJC, these requirements were previously deleted under the assumption that the topic was adequately addressed in other parts of the hospital accreditation manual, but upon further evaluation they were determined to be a necessary part of the Medical Staff Chapter for hospitals.
