| The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising healthcare professionals about possible risks from the use of infant heel warmers. These devices are disposable heat packs used during neonatal care to increase circulation in the infant's heel. Activating the pack produces a chemical reaction that produces heat to approximately 104 degrees F.
