| Within The Joint Commission's (TJC) recent Hospital standards update are new and revised Elements of Performance (EP's) for standard NR.02.03.01. The new EPs are effective as of January 1, 2009 but will not be scored until July 2009. TJC standard NR.02.03.01 requires that nurse executives direct the implementation of nursing policies and procedures, nursing standards, and nurse staffing plans.
