| The Joint Commission recently issued new and revised standards and Elements of Performance for Hospital programs in preparation for the submission of its application for continued deemed status from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The new and revised standards are effective as of January 1, 2009 but will not be scored until July 2009.Included in the revisions is a new Provision of Care Standard PC.02.01.03, which states that Hospitals using TJC for deemed status...
