| The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have issued a Final Rule detailing a new requirement that certain durable medical equipment suppliers must post a surety bond. The final surety bond regulation, required by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, makes certain suppliers of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) post a $50,000 surety bond.
