| The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have issued a Final Rule for calendar year 2009 for hospital outpatient and ambulatory surgery center services. The Final Rule revises the Medicare hospital outpatient prospective payment system to implement applicable statutory requirements and changes arising from CMS' continuing experience with the system, and to implement a number of changes made by the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act of 2008.
