| The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a report that shows that Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) programs for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) fraud prevention are not effective. During its investigation, GAO found that the fraud prevention controls currently in place are ineffective in preventing fictitious DMEPOS companies from obtaining legitimate Medicare billing numbers and completing test billing.According to...
